Click, purchase, delivery. It’s that easy, these days almost anything we could ask for is at the tip of our fingers. Sometimes however, there’s a glitch in the system. A human glitch, a thief.
These thieves are starting to get all too confident in their abilities, stealing right off front porches, even out of people’s mailboxes, stealing their checks, potential stimulus payments that were never “delivered.” This is not how the click-purchase-delivery system was designed to operate.
How do we eliminate (or at the very least catch) the thief aspect in this situation?
The same company that brings us the Ring video doorbell, which we’re probably all familiar with (a video of a food service delivery person, taking a quick sip of a shake that did not belong to him comes to mind, gross) brings us the Ring Mailbox Sensor!
“Similar to the Ring Motion Sensor accessory for Ring lighting products, the new Mailbox Sensor is a little sensor that relies on Amazon’s Sidewalk technology to extend the range of your Wi-Fi network.” This is what it will look like, presented by Ring.
Ring President Leila Rouhi explains it’s something may customers have been asking for. Given Ring’s success in the smart home device industry, it was only a matter of time until mailboxes were included.
The mailbox sensor sends an alert to your smart device when the door is opened and designed to work with other Ring security products like their existing doorbells and outdoor cameras to record footage when this happens.
